Album Reviews:

'All Hands Together' ultimately feels like an ode to community, resilience, and the beauty of the everyday. For fans of folk music that tells stories, celebrates history, and finds beauty in the details it's a collection worth exploring, channelling the storytelling of The Unthanks and the warmth of The Staves, yet stands on its own as a heartfelt tribute to England's waterways and the people who call them home.” Damon Boughen - NIGHTSHIFT

Gig review: Ross-on-wye gig review here

‘All Hands Together has been a revelation – one of the best things I’ve heard all year and hearing those wonderful songs performed in the live forum was exhilarating... I’m delighted to have discovered Three Idle Women and I heartily recommend that you do the same. You won’t regret it.’
At the Barrier

Three Idle Women have a fondness for close harmony singing and stories that are carried through song. They take audiences on a musical journey through time, traveling along the waterways network they weave heritage stories and insights into living afloat. The trio capture snapshots of life through the eyes of the boaters. Exploring ideas of socio-geography, deepening connections to place and landscape and our relationship to nature, they reference and celebrate boaters and characters from the canals, both past and present.

Having released their debut album in November 2024 they have been featured on Mark Radcliffe’s radio 2 folk show, included in Fatea’s winter showcase and played extensively on folk radio stations across the UK. The trio are featured in Channel 4s series narrow escapes in May 2025.

Three Idle Women’s live performances blend high-quality music with interactive story-telling, visuals, films along with a Krankie (a wonderful story-telling contraption).
